Marlow, Bucks - Help with socialisation

Hi
I live in Marlow in Bucks and need some help from anyone with calm but confident dogs that are willing to assist to socialise my rescue girly. She is great with most dogs but we have had a few problems when out and about and she meets other unsocial or nervous ones. As you can't predict who you will meet on walks I am finding that every outing is a risk and we are taking one step forward on good days where we just meet nice dogs and two steps back when she comes across a not so friendly one. She is losing confidence every time we have a bad meeting and I need to sort this out as quickly as possible.
She has been through the mill in her short life and deserves any help she can get to resolve problems that are not her fault.
Please help if you can.

Hi Mummyand3furbabies

Sorry I didn't see this earlier as I was in the General Chat area. Thank you for replying. We have had a really good few days and haven't had any setbacks in the socialising for a while but would love to swap stories. It is nice to speak to someone in the same county x

Re: Marlow, Bucks - Help with socialisation

I'm in High Wycombe and would love to meet for doggy walks, but although McKenzie LOVES other dogs, she still has a lot of puppy enthusiasm so I'm not sure she can be classified as a 'calm' dog!

Great! McKenzie loves playing with pups and she's just little herself. I don't have a car but she's used to going on trains. You must be so excited to be getting Lucy soon - enjoy the puppy days! I can't believe Kenzie is already 6 months, it's just flown by.

Re: Marlow, Bucks - Help with socialisation

She looks so cute in your profile photo.

I have a beautiful cat which I had to leave with my mum when I moved over here and I miss her lots! But I'm going home (with McKenzie) at the end of the year so am looking forward to seeing her again.

Looking forward to lots of photos of Lucy! I found this forum great - chances are someone else has been through the exact same thing and there's some people with very good advice.
