Re: fearful dogs: highly-heritable and difficult to change 'fear' to 'fine'

I learned that Debbie was very impatient at the outset with her dogs, unfortunately. Also that she did not know how to bring in a new non behaviorally challenged dog, never mind a behaviorally challenged dog. She even exclaimed a feeling of relief that he was gone.

OK so I lied « Fearfuldogs' Blog
Don’t take my lead on this one! « Fearfuldogs' Blog

In a video with her husband, she exclaims that it is 3 1/2 years later, with Sunny only willing to be with him when he throws a frisbee. I don't know, I work a lot of fearful dogs, and I have owned a couple myself. I have helped other people with their dogs overcome their fear.

The entire defeatest attitude and glomming onto the story with such tenacity is what causes these dogs not to improve and enjoy life as much as they can. Yeah, they might not be Lassie, but they can have a much calmer and more confident life. It is BS to claim otherwise when I see it many times a year.

The problem is that Debbie does not value training, does not know how to train, and does not participate in any training towards a goal (no matter what method is being used). She also has a huge lack of understanding of how training that is results orientated helps with behavior modification. It is a mystery to her, and will likely remain so.

In her interviews, her misrepresentation and ignorance of what an Alpha is (an Alpha only is aggressive when seeking to defend themselves human or dog) alarming at best, as well as her lack of knowledge on training disciplines and tools that she feels free to give opinions on despite her obvious ignorance. You can see how she tried to answer a simple question on this blog entry (she challenged me to a bet, and this is a part of our discussion over her "problem"):

WWW.MANNERLYMUTTS.COM: June 21st Date Fearfuldog Challenge is Due=$$$s to My Animal Rescues

And yeah she had to pay my charities 100.00, as Hoobie lives an active, healthy and freer life than before.

The best is that she promotes and applauds a study that "purely positive" trainers "scientifically" did to shock dogs at the highest levels randomly...in order to justify their ignorance about these training aids.

Man I wish someone would REALLY interview her.
