Re: 11 week old puppy with agression

Aggression is usually a sign of nervousness or fearfulness. If he jumps up, don't pick him up, turn your back on him until he has sat or stood down again. You don't want him jumping up when he gets bigger and by picking him up on demand like this, you are rewarding him for jumping up.

As to the stairs, you really need a baby gate across so that he can't get up there. He could easily damage his joints trying to run upstairs at his age.

You will get there, I am sure. They are all different.

For example he knows he is not alowed on the stairs so he will run mid way up the start growling and snarling baring teeth etc. He is far to little just 6lb to bring down with a house leash as he would tumble down the stairs so i have to pick up at which he tries to bite. He will also jump up and ask to be picked up but when you do sometimes he is fine and cuddles in and others he will go nuts. I have been locking him out for a couple of mins and doing training. also been trying to get him to sit before any affection hoping that by earning it he will want it. He was two days under 8 weeks when we got him. He was perfect for the first week and since then a little horror at times. Think possibly nervious as suggested but does not show any signs of it just a little tirant
I would certainly get him seen or just speak to a behaviourist if i was you it cant hurt anything. Take my advice and air on the side of caution
