More puppy questions

Hi, Iposted a thread ystday about my 8wk old yorkie growling when he's being brushed and one of you guys asked if he growled at any other time, thinking about it the answer is yes! when he plays with my daughters 8 month old yorkie cross (always supervised) he growls and snaps if the older dog gets a bit boisterous, is this normal? i'm new to this puppy business and i thought it would be the older pup that was more dominant but its the 3 inch terror that seems to be the boss, have i got a delinquent dog ? he's literally 3 inches high. Lisa.

Re: More puppy questions

Without seeing your pup, it's hard to say. Mine is 14 weeks and he growls during play. He can get quite snappy if overexcited. I'm quite inexperienced so perhaps someone else can help you.

Are you planning on going to puppy school?

I don't think you have a delinquent dog, hes probably just a bit nervous and its his way of showing you. I'm not expert but I'm sure he will get used to being brushed if you just persevere. what sort of brush do you use? Maybe you could get someone to feed little treats while you brush him for a few minutes and just repeat this 2 or 3 times each day until he takes it in his stride. Bless him, they do test you at times.
