Calling all owners of dogs that are scared of fireworks

As you may have read in my 'Hello' post, I am a PhD researcher studying the treatment of fear of fireworks in dogs. This year I will be conducting a trial of two homeopathic remedies for canine fear of firework noises over the November and New Year firework periods, and I am currently recruiting dogs that suffer from this problem. If anyone is interested in their dog taking part please email me at ncracknell@lincoln.ac.uk and I would be happy to provide you with more information about the study and what would be involved. Anyone taking part will need to have the approval of their veterinary surgeon.

Thanks,

Nina

No problem. Two homeopathic will be trialled, each for four weeks (one over the November firework period and one over the New Year firework period). You would be required to dose your dog once a day with the treatment and complete a daily diary (four short questions to record your dogs progress) which is returned to the university every two weeks. If your dog is exposed to fireworks their is a slightly longer questionnaire to complete, which asks more specific questions about your dogs response compared to what you would expect without using the treatment.

Those that would like to participate will need to complete a couple of initial short questionnaires which assess your dogs reaction to fireworks before treatment, and get their vet to sogn a consent form.

If you require any more information just let me know
