LOL our name is just too confusing for everyone I get called Gill (as in fish gills) all the time Or some bright spark decides to call me Gilly which I hate and refuse point blank to answer to . Annd I only get called Gillian by my mum when I'm in trouble or my sister when she's trying to get my attention

Re: Wish us luck!

When we did the Gold Assessment the trainer let all the dogs that we were familiar with go (they had done Bronze and Silver Assessments) so the 'off the lead' heel in the presence of another dog was done with a huge GSD who had a new (but very experienced handler) I found it scary but my lad did me proud. The only other issue was stopping the dog. I found it much easier to stop him by whistle as he was going away from me but the Assessor wanted me to stop him as he was coming towards me - by voice command - so we learnt that during the assessment. You will find the Assessor supportive but it is still a harrowing experience.

Re: Wish us luck!

Stop the dog was about the only thing we struggled with today, but we've never done that excersise before so was completely expected.

I never though we'd be able to do all the things required for bronze so I now know with work he can learn new things, keeps it interesting aswell

Re: Wish us luck!

With bronze and silver we did about 4 months of training each time before we had a test so I would expect about the same this time so probably looking at about December/January I would have thought.

I will defo let everyone know how we do..... I'll be shouting it from the rooftops when we pass. My boy can be a royal pain in training so his achievements are that bit more rewarding
