New springer pup?

Hi, I have an 8 month old, very well behaved springer/cocker cross bitch, I am picking up a 13 weeks old pure springer pup (also bitch) tomorrow, have done my homework, however would like some first hand advice on introductions and generally having two dogs, I've always had dogs but never more than one!

We have an amazing dog in Poppy and am looking forward to her having a companion yet want to get things right!
ThANKS! X

If your dog is well behaved and good with other dogs just bring the pup in and leave them to it. That's what we did with our pups and we have never (touch wood) had any problems between them.

In my opinion having more than one dog is easier and much more fun than just having one. They will entertain each other when you are busy for starters and watching them play together is much better than TV!!! Make sure you spend a bit of individual time with each dog each day and you'll be fine. Good luck!

To be honest we crate trained her from day one, never took and crap from her and stood firm, not always easy with those big brown eyes!!! We did take her to a training class which cost £150 for 6 sessions and wasn't a bit beneficial, the only thing the trainer did was try and tell us to that dogs should be like robots and to make her walk to heel she had to wear a Canny Colar, while I'm not slating the product, she did walk to heel with it I have since taught her to walk without it by stopping and making her sit everytime she pulled, she soon learned that she got nowhere if she pulled! I must admit, I still haven't got her out of jumping up, I'm currently just turning my back on her and ignoring her and she barks relentlessly at cats outside, though she wouldn't bother if she saw on up close!! Hope it's of help!! x
