An hours walk is much too long for a 12 week old puppy,it is recommended that you only walk 5 mins per month of age.
i.e 5 x 3 = 15 minutes,so you should only really be walking them for 15 minutes at 12 weeks.

A growl is a warning, there's no wonder you got bitten if you ignored the warning. Why you feel the need to pin down a 12 week old puppy is beyond me. Seems very strange that 12 week old pups are showing aggression to such simple things. Perhaps it is in retaliation to force being used on them?

Like Sally said two hour long walks is far too long for 12 week old puppies.

Are you first time dog owners?

Re: jack russel bitch 12 weeks growling then bites

Two pups need two times training attention etc.

You need to play with your pups individually and three times as much as they do with each other.

So if the pups play together for 5 mins u need to play with each of them for 15 mins. And repeated throughout the day.

If u dont do this u are setting urself up for trouble. They need to learn about human behaviours as well as doggy ones.

Go get the gwen bailey perfect puppy book.

Re: jack russel bitch 12 weeks growling then bites

Don't hold her, it will make her more aggitated. Oscar is 12 weeks and when he's in a chew puppy nipping mode, I make sure to move myself out of his way. I once made a mistake of grabbing something from him when and I accidentally got bitten - not badly but it hurt.

Two hours..? Oscar is out for half an hour and probably walks for 10 out of those 30 mins. Please don't take your puppy out for such long walks. Oscar nips much more when he's overtired. I imagine your little one is exhausted and that might be the problem.
