My male sheltie had the second fear phase it seemed to be weird noises and doorways he got over it. He still isn't fond of strange doorways and looks at me for the it's ok...good luck I'd never experienced it before either but had heard of it...Jill

It depends on the dog really, maybe a few weeks, maybe a few months, but not at the same level all the time. You need to handle this phase with the utmost patience. Encouraged your dog to work it out on her own. If anything, it is better to ignore the whole situation than to reinforce the fear by giving inappropriate attention or petting her while she is afraid. If she appears apprehensive, avoid confrontation, and build confidence through training. Avoid any potentially overwhelming circumstances you cannot personally oversee Hope this helps
