Awwh the poor thing. Good on them though for taking the time to treat her and try to help her get better, I find that quite impressive.

it's not just the kindness of their hearts, hun - they hope to send her back to foreign-service -
she is no different than a tank, personnel-carrier, or radio-comm gear: fix it + get it back to duty.
mil-dogs are expensive, and she represents a big investment; her handler does not think of her that way,
but i can guarantee the Brass does - she is in for repair, not retirement with a pension and a medal.

i just hope she recovers with resilience - if she's brittle, and falls-apart again, there will likely be no fixing her.
DoG bless Gina,
--- terry

Question not sure why ppl find PTSD in a dog 'insulting' to serviceniks

---- behavior + Dx -----
this dog's behavior sounds remarkably like the human-PTSD symptoms; i am not sure why that description
should bother anyone so -
maternal attachment is mediated by oxytocin, whether U are mouse-mother or human; massive stress,
violent concussions, sudden panic are all frightening to both k9s and humans.

if i describe an animal fed beer by tourists as an alcoholic when that animal displays addictive behaviors,
do i deride alcoholics? or recognize a similar suite of behaviors?

i hope Gina continues to recover; constant fear is a very-bad companion, poor dog.
her DS/CC B-mod sounds very familiar.
