Dogs that go bark in the night?

Hello

I'm a bit sleepy today because my lovely lab Wispa decided to do a spot of nightime barking yesterday. I think she must have heard a noise in the street or in the garden (maybe next door's cat) and decided to alert me to it. When I went downstairs to check on her there was nothing to see. She was still lying in her basket!

Can anyone suggest any other reasons for it, or ideas for preventing it?

Does anyone else's dog do this?

Thank you

Janet

I wish I could take the credit (!) - but she was a rescue and came with that name already. I love Wispa bars too, so we decided not to change it.

Some people think she's called Whisper though - and then they're surprised when she's noisy
