Can someone please tell me , I am right in thinking there is a large dog show in Monmouth wales, a few years ago 2/3 yrs I was heading up to symounds yat , as my oh is into his classic cars and I stopped off in Manmouth one Sunday morning waiting for woolies to open and I was parked up at this lovely place and I can remember looking other and seeing loads of tents in a wonderful looking park beside a stream and loads of dogs, i think I mostly seen collies from where I was , but as oh wanted to get to his ford show I couldn't go down a see , , Can anyone tell me if this is a show that is on every year I think it was june / july time , if it is I know my oh wants to go up around this area again , so if its on I would like to stay around here so he can't say no this time ,

also is it all collies or is it other breeds as well

South Wales Kennel Association Championship Show is at Usk, which is near Monmouth. It is on from Thurs 3rd July to Sunday 6th July - Thurs is hound and terriers, Fri is toy and utility, Saturday is gundog and Sunday is working and pastoral. Entries for the show close on Fri 23rd May (postal) or Mon 2nd June (online). You can see this show from the main road, so I think it is probably the one you mean.

There is another one in the middle of August in Monmouth itself it is just an open show held in conjunction with the agricultural show

This will explain why I only really seen Collies as it was a Sunday , Thanks , Gone to book me a holiday I'm thinking

it was on 30th August last year, it is an all breed open show, info will be in both dog papers and on line at fosee data and/or/ Higham press
it certainly is a lovely venue, BUT........it has moved......last year was the first year of the new venue........just off Monmouth town centre now right on the river, so be sure you check the venue carefully be fore you trek off to where you saw it last!
