showing quiry

heya
i have a lovely 7 month old lab/retriver who i am wanting to show i didnt buy him my bf did and he has a field pedigree. he has lovely confirmation etc but im wondering if i can put him in the classes lab retriver puppy/juniour im used to showing cavalier king charles. so not 100 o/o sure what a good show lab should have any advice would be appreciated xx

Have you been to any ringcraft classes, that would be a good place to start for the showring - you can also often pick up schedules for local shows.

I will say if he is working bred, it's unlikely he is going to be suitable for showing - but the only way you will find out is by having a go.

Closing dates can vary from 6 weeks to 2 weeks before the show date.

Have you measured his conformation against the breed standard? it's useful to know your dogs shortcomings as well as strengths - this can take time to learn.
