Never been done in with entries for horse shows or races either.

The Kennel Club have rules regarding the refunding of entry monies and they do not include illness, seasons, death etc...........
The Kennel Club does indeed have rules - but they are not what you seem to think they are. It is actually down to the individual club what they want to do about entry fees.

For example, in the Boston Champ Show schedule it states that once fees are paid they are not refundable.

However, in the Manchester Champ Show schedule it states:

"Entry fees, once received, will be refunded only on production of a veterinary certificate or a medical certificate prior to the show".

So contrary to your opinion, if your dog is ill or injured, or you are ill or injured, KC rules allow you to claim your entry fees back prior to the show, depending upon what the individual show committees have decided. And in this case, I love Springers will be able to get her fees back from Manchester Champ Show if she sends a letter from her vet.
Burrowzig, swarthy and Grace_Lily like this.

I was only asking a question and there was no need to be so abrupt in your reply...

How is anyone supposed to know these things if they don't ask.

Yes I am fully aware of what The Red Book says, hence my post. It is up to the INDIVIDUAL society and very few will refund entry fees (in my very limited experience in several disciplines).

So thank you for confirming my statement.

Eh? I've confirmed nothing you said - in fact what I've written is diametrically opposed to what you said. How on earth do you get

Just hold your hand up and admit you were wrong. You ain't foolin' anyone! If you WERE fully aware of what the red book says, you would have given the same answer to I love Springers as I did

Re: Claiming entry fees back

I've never known this happen - - we had to miss 3 shows over the Christmas break because we brought back Kennel Cough form LKA and all the dogs went down with it - to be honest I never thought to ask for a refund -I was just hopping mad that someone had taken an infectious dog to such a big show !!

I do wish you all the best with your Springer - it's just heart breaking when our dogs are ill.
