Re: First open show... what to expect?
The ring number should be on the side of the ring, the number would either be in your schedule or in the catolouge if not ask at the secetary's table and they should tell you, as for your number it will either be at the secetary's table or already in the ring diffrent shows do diffrent things. Good Luck and have fun u'll be hooked soon

Re: First open show... what to expect?
You will normally be able to pick out the table they should all be wearing committee badges of some sort, if you explain to somebody though that it is your first show you will normally find someone who will help you - what show is it there may be a member from here going

Re: First open show... what to expect?
At most open shows you will be given your ring number by the steward who calls you into the ring for your class.
If you haven't pre-ordered a catalogue, buy one when you get there. Near the secretary's table there is usually a list of rings, the breeds in each and the order in which they will be judged. Keep an eye on the ring as there is nothing worse than getting all prepared, keyed up and nervous only to miss your class. Find someone with your breed and stick close to them (usually, people tend to congregate in "breed groups" near their ring). Don't be afraid to ask someone if you don't know what to do. Despite the rumours, most show folk are really nice and helpful. Good Luck Mick
