Free standing

I've decided I'll probaly free stand Jack in the ring as he prefers it and his breeder says he sets himself up well. I know he's still young (4 months) but how do I stop him from jumping up at the judge or up on me?

When I stack him he gets anoyed that he is being held in place but then when he free stands he starts wagging his tail like crazy and cries for a treat Going to look odd free standing a poodle right enough..

Re: Free standing

Sorry I have no idea how to stop him jumping.

I tried to teach Simba to free stand as he hates being stacked he will do it out of the ring and when we pratice but when it come to doing it in the ring I don't know if its me or what but he doesn't do it. Mind you it doesn't help when people crowd you or like at one show when someone left their crates next to the ring with 3 dogs in one crate they started to have a fight right behind were I have got Simba standing just so and scare the living daylights out of him

Re: Free standing

He will stack on the table but otherwise he's like 'Nope I'm cuter doing my own thing'

Might try taking him outside a supermarket and getting him to stand, giving him a treat when he doesn't jump up.
