Re: Where do i find someone to show my dogs

Personally I would look at ringcraft classes as most exibitors attend them, ask around view their methods, some folk will do it as they love being in the ring, your local dog club can help put u in touch.

I would also look 4 someone with experience in your breed, r u planning on just doing local open shows, or champ shows as well?

Cara is handled by a junior handler, she has trained her since being a pup and thye have a fab relationship inside and outside the ring, there r some excellent junior handlers who handle for the experience

Can pm you the names of some professional handlers? Although would you not give it a bash yourself? I only started showing about a year ago and showed my dogs myself, we got to champ shows all over the country and they have done amazingly well . I hate when someone else takes my dog in the ring now, even if they do a better job lol! Whens their first show ? x

Indeed.
I would find something in your breed willing to help, I know in my breed their are 'younger' people that would love to handle through out the year but dont have a dog to.

Re: Where do i find someone to show my dogs

Yeah but the OP wanted someone with a good reputation to handle. Theres not many in most breeds with good reputations that will handle a dog other than one from their own lines ect, but DD idea could work if she could find a younger handler that has maybe been around for a while. Personally I think you should just give it a bash yourself .

ps. Not all of the professional handlers i mentioned charge big bucks - some do - but I know a few between 18 and 22 who just want the experience and to get their name out there in order to be able to charge big bucks one day x
