Hello everyone,

I have two cross Springer/cocker spaniels. Both coming up to 2 years old.

Sadly my business has gone under and I have lost my job and I am very much fearing the worst financially. My main concern (apart from my home) is what is going to happen to the dogs. I want to make sure they are kept together and put somewhere where they are properly looked after.

I feel sick at the thought of getting rid of them but I dont want to leave it any longer because the decision may be taken out of my hands and god knows where they will end up.

They are in good health, they are chipped, they have just been groomed and their vaccinations are up to date.

What do I do ? and how do I do it ?

you poor thing! are they male or female?. Maybe you could put a picture of them up here, someone might be able to help you. where are you from?

do you have any family or friends that would be able to take them on?

that way you would be able to keep them with you for now and at least you know they will have somewhere to go should the need arise. x

They are two males.

I have spoken with my dog groomer who is in touch with a Springer Rescue group, they foster the dogs out until homes are found and they are then rehomed after the people are properly vetted.

I have decided not to make any rash decisions. I am going to Speak to the debt counsellors tomorrow who will tell me what is likely to happen and I will be a bit further on then.

I have said to the dog groomer that I am going to have a long, hard think about things before I come to my decision.

Good luck... sometimes life is just too tough, i hope the debt councellr can help. You are not on your own sunshine....you will rise again. Hopefully you will get some help. A lot of businesses have gone under.

I know exactly what your going through,our business is going under tooand the government are useless,they wont help anyone that is trying to help themselves!!!!im having to sell our horses very reluctantly,but i just cant afford to keep them

Im so sorry to hear that. The worst part of a business going under in the current climate is when you are good at what you do, yet matters out of your control take over. I hope things work out for you.

I was at a bit of a low when I posted the original message and things seemed to be against me. Ive done some research and It looks like I dont have to go bankrupt, there are a number of options for me. More importantly I think I can keep my house.

Ive decided that short of me being paralysed from the neck down or facing my own mortality, the dogs are staying with me for the rest of their natural life and I aint giving up!

I must admit I had let things go with the dogs behaviour whilst i was concentrating on my other problems and they are not the best behaved dogs but since Ive got some fire in my belly Ive started to turn things round and instill discipline and they are like reformed characters and a pleasure to have around!
