Very very urgent! Foster home for Rocco 2yr SBT
Can anyone help poor Rocco? He is a friendly 2yr old SBT who cannot cope with kennel life at all. He will spin the moment he goes in a kennel and has chewed his tail so much it had to be amputated. He then started to chew his leg and so had to wear a Buster collar continuously to prevent him chewing and as can be seen in this picture he lost a lot of weight.
He was found a foster home where he settled well, with 3 female dogs and a 4yr old child, and started to put on weight. Unfortunately for Rocco (but fortunate for his fosterer) his fosterer got offered a full time job and so Rocco was having to be left for long periods and so he started his spinning again.
This is the report from this fosterer - 'This little lad is fantastic a great family dog, clean in the house, never chews gets on great with my two dogs and my 3yr old grandaughter, i dont know what he's like with dogs as i have bitches, he's come a long way in the month that i have had him, he's put on a lot of weight and has turned out to be a very good dog, please can some one take him as i dont want to leave him alone all day.'
He is now in a foster home where there is a male dog and they are not getting on. He is still there but can only remain there for a couple more days at the most, then he may have go to back into kennels which would be disasterous for him.
He is a friendly dog with people and children and behaved well with house training etc he just desperately needs a quiet environment where he can start to heal and build his self esteem.
Ideally we are looking for a pet free foster home.
If anyone feels they could offer Rocco a foster home please contact me / tracyb or Gilka ring 07941 653924 (as I will have no internet access for a week). You will be under no obligation to proceed but we can chat through Rocco's needs and you can make an informed decision.
This poor guy needs desprately to be able to settle with someone who can give him time and patience.
