Baisley is approx 2 years old and learning to smile. He is now safe having hopped about moving through homes. He came from Yorkshire through a busy council pound being 'just another stray Staffie' He came in with horrendous mange which has now been treated but has left a few areas where his fur seems thinner. He has recently been fostered within a family with children and is superb with people. Even though he still is in rescue .. he has a sense that there is light at the end of his kennel. He is usually fine with bitches and in fact probably could live with a bitch; but he would need careful intro to a male ... but then he is still entire (Neutered this week) so naturally will be more assertive if his background hasn't focused on his needs and socialisation skills. We think he is doing very well considering his previous skin condition probably meant his was kept away from dogs and must have caused him a lot of suffering. He is out the other side now and has light at the end of his kennel!
Yes Baisley as a young Staffie who has had few opportunities, is boisterous currently but seeing him run off that energy and see how he begins to calm from his imposed kennel stress, in the right experienced hands, is going to be that 'truly loved boy'. A real character in the making. We are looking for a lower density dog area than London and a medium to large secure garden to ensure he has aide to expression to his energy, with fun games as part of his routine. Observing him in the exercise area of the kennels you see how much a garden will feature in meeting his needs. Baisley despite being in rescue for sometime has now come to us and we are busy sorting his physical needs out this week with neutering; chipping and the vaccination process started. Baisley is typical of a young Staffie in rescue who needs time to settle; utilise his keen energies in constructive ways centred around his needs supported by routine and training. We love him .. he is super and oh so loyal. Re: Baisley, 2 year old Staffie needs home!
We took Charlie and Shiva out for a walk yesterday. He looked super in his TRPD harness. A very chappy and I got a bum wiggling response every time I called his name. Fun dog and he loves his treats.
![]() Here is some footage of Charlie being very cute earlier in the week, after his walk with Mark, one of our volunteer dog walkers ... seems he's learnt a new trick: Roll Over! ![]()

Re: Baisley, 2 year old Staffie needs home!
Taz had a lovely walk with his friend Charlie yesterday. Happy soul ... needs manners when meeting people on the street ... suddenly they have a Taz experience if you're not one step ahead and in control. There he is practically arm around their shoulder, as though he is telling them stories! Another poor lad who has grown up in kennels and is still looking for a foster home or forever home!

Re: Baisley, 2 year old Staffie needs home!
An update from one of our lovely volunteer kennel walkers on Charlie …
“So today I decided to take Charlie out for the day, I got the halti on him with ease today, out into the car park and really confused him when I opened the tailgate of the car. He jumped up and had a good sniff around and then settled down for the drive. As it was so hot I took him over to Shoreham, where I knew he could paddle in the river if he got too warm. What a wuss, I never thought Charlie would be scared of the water, he looked at the river with great suspicion, he did go down the edge several times and had a drink but just looked at me as if to say 'You've got no chance of getting me in there Mate'! So we walked along the riverbank in the shade, there were a lot of people around today, some families with dogs, Charlie wasn't fazed by anything. He sniffed around a few off lead dogs who came over to him and got a lovely fuss from two young children. Some mad woman walked past with a poodle complaining about how a Staffie had pinned her dog down a few weeks ago, Charlie just sniffed her dog and ignored it, which I did point out to her, and she wandered off muttering to herself. When we got out into the fields the heat became quite intense, Charlie started to roll about in the damp clover, I took this as a sign we shouldn't go on the longer route I'd planned, so we sat down and had a rest in the shade. We then retraced our route along the river, he had several more 'looks' at the water, and eventually braved the 'roaring torrent' right up to his knees! He seemed to get a bit more confident of the water and went in several times for a paddle. Back at the kennels we had to wait for a little while as some of the dogs were being moved from the paddock back to kennels, so I sat in the boot of the car with the tailgate up and Charlie and I had big fuss and cuddle. The excitable Charlie people see in the kennels is so far removed from the out-and-about Charlie, I just wish someone would come and see him for what he really is, a charming, affectionate and well behaved little chap”.
