Scooby 9 year old Lab X in need of loving new home

Scooby was rescued from being put to sleep . We at Animal Lifeline UK found Scooby rescue back up and as it was so urgent I agreed to foster him until a suitable home could be found for him. We also arranged transport to get Scooby to me as he came from Wales. Scooby is 9 years old and is Lab x .

Good points of Scooby

He gets on really well with my dog Tilly, doesn't bother with my 5 cats or even my Rabbits and small furries.
He is really good with my two boys loving nothing better than playing with them or snuggling with them.
He loves to be cuddled is very loving and is like your shadow following you everywhere trying to please you in any way he can.
He also makes funny noises whenever you watch animals on the TV and trys to get behind the TV to see where they are(I must get a video of this as he looks so funny when doing it. lol)

Scooby's Bad points

Scooby is food mad and has stolen quite a few meals from us :doh2: he is so food mad that he even got the food bin down while I was shopping the other evening and ate stuff in that (yuck!)

At home Scooby is as good as gold and never barks in the house or garden even if neighbour's dogs are making a racket or when people walk past with their dogs.
As soon as you put on his lead for walkies and we're out he transforms into a mad dog. He barks very enthusiastically at anyone with or without a dog, pulling hard on the lead trying to get to them, which for the other person is quite scary and very intimidating. He is totally focused and there's nothing you can do to stop him apart from drag him away or wait for the dog/person to disappear (which they usually do-very fast). This means we can't take him out anywhere where we might see someone else.

Scooby has an auto immune disease of the skin and is currently on steroids for it but seems ok other than he still has patches of missing fur bless him.

He hasn't been neutered yet so I am hoping that once he has he will calm down a bit as he has also tried to hump my dog Tilly and will mark her by weeing on her when she is trying to wee in the garden so I am now taking them out one at a time.

To sum Scooby up he is a very loving boy, who is always trying to please you, I really hope that someone who has had dogs with the same type of problems Scooby has will home him and give him all the love he so wants.

Personally I think Scooby would do well in a home with a female dog, with someone who is there for most of the day as he really doesn't like being on his own.
