Hershey, Chocolate Labrador, 2 years old, needs a home

I've been contacted by one of my customer's to say she's looking to re-home her 2 year old chocolate labrador called Hershey. This is due to a change in their work commitments and she asked if I knew anyone who would be interested. Hershey has been to stay with me on several occassions and I walk her three times a week. She is a typical labrador, full of beans, but is a lovely dog and loves nothing more than chasing a ball and playing in water. Were my circumstances different I would be sorely tempted to take her myself. She's nuetered and fully vaccinated. I live in the Stockport area as does Hershey's owner and I'd happily pass on contact details for anyone genuinely interested.

I forgot to mention that she is really good with other dogs and loves to play with them. She is not aggressive at all when playing and is also good with children.

Thanks for your replies and the suggestions. I'll print them off and pass them on to her next week when I walk her.

Re: Hershey, Chocolate Labrador, 2 years old, needs a home

To be honest, unless its someone you or she knows who wants to re-home her you can never be sure where she will end up, and if she isnt going to get moved on again. At least with the help or with a breed rescue taking her in, she will likely be found the right home and most breed rescues do home checks and vet the owners beforehand and also give ongoing support.
So she could well have a better chance going through the breed rescue then taking a chance on the internet, in fact I would say she dffinately does.

Re: Hershey, Chocolate Labrador, 2 years old, needs a home

Just an update - Hershey was rehomed on 26 December by a lovely family who have the time and energy to give her. It was very sad to see her go but I'm sure she'll be a lot happier in her new home. Hopefully, as I do home boarding, I'll get to see her again if they need anyone to look after her when they go away.

I will miss our walks though!
