Judy - Dinky Staffie (Hope Rescue)

Judy is a 3/4 year old staffie and is currently on foster in Ledbury, Hereford.

The Judy Fact File
Dog status: Very good with careful introductions
Cat status: Good with confident cats.
Child status: Assessed in an adult only foster home. Could be rehomed with children over the age of 8 who are used to dogs
House training: Perfect
Home alone: Good for a few hours at a time after exercise and is crate trained. Does love human company though.

i am going to use Judy's foster carer's words to best describe her:

'Judy has proved she's easy going and adaptable, she'd fit in anywhere. She is confident and fun loving. She would enjoy a busy life with lots of human company and adventures. Judy is great with our collie and tears about with him whenever she gets the chance. I think she could live with or without other dogs. She is bossy, so introductions with other dogs should be handled by a confident human. Judy would happily live in a town, she LOVES the countryside, it's all very exciting. Judy did chase sheep, geese, cats and chickens when she first got here, she is much, much better now, but her new people must keep her under control round livestock. Judy really enjoys playing fetch, tug, and anything 'ruff and tumble'. She'll need at least 2 interesting half hour walks a day. She loves her food, is gentle with it and would enjoy learning tricks for treats.'
Judy is currently living with a collie in her foster home and she has settled in with him very well and enjoys lots of chase games and fun. When she meets dogs out on walks she can get over excited and be bossy and in your face with them. However, if one thing is true about Judy it is that she is intelligent and trainable so we are sure this can be worked on. If she were to be rehomed with existing dogs care would have to be made with introductions but she would soon settle in and become part of your pack. She could also be rehomed as a single dog.

Judy is also living with cats, she would chase them at first but very quickly learnt to be good and is now very trustworthy around them. She could be rehomed with calm cats who are used to dogs. She may still chase a fast moving kitty cat.
Judy is a very loving and tactile dog and loves nothing more than snuggling up on the settee in the evening. She has been good with children she has met out on walks however; she is living in an adult only foster home so has not been fully assessed with young children. She could be rehomed with children over the age of 8 who are used to dogs.

Judy was not initially keen on being left but this has been gradually and carefully built up by her foster family. She has now been crate trained and has learnt she can be alone for a few hours without needing to worry. This has always been after a good walk and leaving her with something to chew on or an activity toy. She may suit a part time worker or would love to go to work with someone. She loves travelling in the car and will jump in eagerly to see where we are going.

All Hope Rescue dogs are neutered, vaccinated, wormed, flea treated and microchipped prior to rehoming. A homecheck will be required, and you will need to come and meet the dog with your own dogs and family. Hope Rescue rehomes throughout the UK. A Pre-Home Interest Form can be downloaded from Home - http://hoperescue.org.uk and should be returned to dogs@hoperescue.org.uk
