Albie ~ Fantastic People Loving Boy – 3yo Brindle Greyhound

ALBIE

Meet Albie. He is a 3 year old ex-racing greyhound boy who is now finished with the racing life. He is a medium sized greyhound with a very pretty brindle coat. He has bright, intelligent eyes and is in good health. Albie is a real stunner for those brindle lovers out there!

~ Personality ~
Albie is a beautiful soul, a real people-loving hound. He was raised around children and is extremely gentle and affectionate towards kids. He is used to being walked and handled by kiddies and really enjoys their company. He gets so very happy when someone approaches his kennel, excited at the prospect of some attention coming his way, but once you have him out he calms down almost instantly. He is a confident lad and nicely outgoing without being overly excited or in your face. This boy is a real gem!

~ Other Animals ~
Albie has been very good with all the dogs he has met so far, including a small Bichon. He is currently living with another male greyhound – Laddy – and they have gotten on like a house on fire. They love each other’s company and Laddy, being of a shyer, retiring character, has latched on to Albie and has learned the ropes through him. Albie would definitely enjoy the company of other dogs, but we don’t think it is a necessity for him. He would do just as good as an only dog provided he got lots of human interaction and playtime. Albie has not been tested yet with cats, but this can be carried out prior to adoption if required.

~ In the Home ~
Albie is currently living in outdoor kennels with a fosterer, and is getting to experience the house in small stages. New owners may need to be a bit understanding at the start and give him time to learn the house rules, but it shouldn’t take this boy too long to realise what’s being asked of him. Albie is a smart boy and a very quick learner. He is currently working on mastering the art of football!

~ Out and About ~
Like most greyhounds, Albie is a low-energy dog and does not need a huge amount of exercise. He will be content with two 30min walks a day and perhaps a chance to stretch his legs offlead in a safe area once or twice a week. This boy walks like an absolute dream on the lead. He is used to being walked by children and so is generally very gentle and calm when out on his walks. He also travels well in the car and immediately settles down for a relaxed trip.

**UPDATE: MAY 2011**

The beautiful Albie is still looking for his forever home, but he is definitely ready and waiting to go. This lad is going to be a fab addition to the right household – he has so very much to give.

~ Where Am I? ~
Albie is currently being kennelled in Ireland and will be transported via Kerry Greyhounds to the UK or Europe when a suitable permanent or foster home offer comes up. This will be organised and paid for by Kerry Greyhounds, and we ask only for a donation to help cover costs. Please note that adopters will need to travel to our nearest collection point to pick him up, and if you are in the UK and wish to meet before adopting him, he will be fostered in the Norfolk area.

~ Want To Adopt Me? ~
Albie is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, de-flea'd and wormed and a homecheck will be required as part of the adoption procedure.

If you are interested in adopting Albie , please email me on tamakin_84@yahoo.co.uk for our adoption application form and information pack. Emails are usually replied to within 24 hrs. Thanks!
