Penny, Lickle Staffie, DOB 06 - Twickenham



Homing Requirements: Penny deserves a kind stable family who will offer her further training and socialization. She would benefit from a secure garden. Penny copes with being left but still needs her family to centre around her needs. Skin needs watching post mange treatment though now cleared. Housetraining achieved but needs positive reinforcement to maintain this.

Her Story: Penny was found stray and unclaimed. She was close to season and went into foster as she was finishing her season. She has now been spayed, is fully vax'd and chipped. Wormed and flea treated.

Advert: Penny is a young affectionate and enthusiastic lickle Staffie. She is copper red and stunning and her health is now tip top. She has always socialized well and is kind by nature. She has coped well with being left for several 3-4 hour periods whilst her fosterers are at work and enjoys meeting them each lunchtime with glee. Her housetraining was fragile initially but has improved and with praise and regular access she should maintain her 'housetraining certificate' achieved within foster.

Penny loves to play and interact but is also happy to be cuddled up for a spell in front of the TV. "Walks: Took her out for an evening run, she has good exercise tolerance, a very fit dog, very good on the lead as always. Her latest favourite walk is a small secure park in which she is let off the lead!!! She is the most happiest playing fetch with ball/sticks, she grins from ear to ear"! In for a Penny? She is worth a million pounds!

"Please note this dog is currently in boarding kennels and is also available for foster until a 'forever' home is found".

An update from on Penny who went into a foster home for a while:

"So much news...

Hormones: Penny is back to her normal self. Her hormones have been all over the place recently, which is quite normal after a spay. She was a well attentive mother to her toy monkey...she is clearly a nurturer by nature. Through it all she was so placid and loving, she is a real gem!

Play time: She is back to playing with her string, ball and sticks now. She was hilarious yesterday, as she carried both her stick and ball in her mouth all the way home after her walk (where was my camera!?!)

Kids: she has meet many kids over the last two weeks. A 2 year old, a 18 month old and a 6week baby. She was, as we imagined, excellent with them. The toddler was all over her, and Penny was so patient and caring, happy to share the attention.

Toileting: toilet trained!

Running: even through she has been recovering from her op, she continued jogging with Barry. On day 3 (post op) she has been jogging with 3/4 times a week. She is very good, keeps to the pavements, doesn't get under feet, or criss cross the path. She has the most gorgeous defined legs!

Wound: healing well, Pen has not scratch site at all and so only wore elizabethian collar for 2 days after op!

Hope that she will find her home soon, not wanting her to return to kennels".
