Tizer, Crossbreed, DOB 06.09 - Caversham, Reading

Tizer, Crossbreed, DOB 06.09 - Caversham, Reading

Homing Requirements: Tizer is a young cross breed with some Staffie in. He needs a family who are conscious of his needs and recognizes that some public have prejudice, but we are confident that Tizer will soon put them at their ease. Tizer could live with children and/or another dog. Tizer is an excellent family dog who needs his own secure garden with 6 foot paneling and an active lifestyle.

Video YouTube - Tizer

His Story: Tizer was found stray and unclaimed. Kennel staff loved him and tried so hard to find him a rescue place. Tizer is now neutered, chipped and being vax'd.

Advert: Tizer came into rescue in early June and we bought him into our care in mid June. He was very stressed in kennels and managed to get in with 2 neighbouring dogs to say ‘hello’ in a friendly way. He has been fostered with Charlotte, a companion who is a little resentful of his presence in her home, but she is coming around to him. They mix well outside and he is having a wonderful time in foster. Tizer meets all dogs well outside. Tizer is smaller than his pictures make him look, Charlotte is tiny!

Tizer has a lovely playful energy, but soon settles down and sleeps in 'down time'. He can be left without event. Currently walked on a gentle leader which has taken the pull out of his walking. Tizer is housetrained, command trained and although a little mouthy he soon stops when calmed. A really good dog who will make a fabulous family dog or second family dog.

Please visit Tizer's thread, in Dogs needing homes in Foster clicking this link Rescue Remedies.myfastforum.org :: Tizer Crossbreed DOB 06.09 Caversham Reading Foster to find out more about him and follow his progress.

If you are interested in re-homing please complete our homing questionnaire https://rescueremedies.wufoo.com/forms/r7x3s5/ so we can ensure our dogs are matched and will suit your circumstances/lifestyle.

Re: Tizer, Crossbreed, DOB 06.09 - Caversham, Reading

Tizer is currently in a foster home while he waits for his forever home. Here is an update from his fosterer:

"Tizer had a big day today as he spent it with our friend Steve who's going to take care of him whilst we're enjoying the mud at Reading festival.

Steve is a championship kickboxer and a bit of a fitness freak. Ty joined him on an early 10 mile run then a long walk in the afternoon!

Tizer came home to 'welcome back' licks from Charlotte and big 'well done' hugs from me, as he was wonderfully behaved all day. Adore this boy.

"Oh Laura, I am exhausted, hurrah for the new comfy chair"!

Re: Tizer, Crossbreed, DOB 06.09 - Caversham, Reading

An update from Tizer's foster home:

"Tizer had a long weekend away and was fabulously behaved. He still jumps up on greeting and is occasionally mouthy, though not with me any more so he is learning quickly. It is all innocent playful loveliness and it's difficult for others to tell him "down" and "no" because he's just so adorable!

He's loving hugs more and more and will squeeze into the smallest gaps on the sofa for a good cuddle!

We've got him using a backpack harness now as a progression from the gentle leader and he's walking perfectly. He seems to love having a job!

Tizer is also loving toys now that him and Charlotte are able to share. His rag thingy gives him (and us) hours of entertainment, chew - throw - chase - chew - throw, brilliant!

Model my backpack you say.........

....and from the back!

Tizer (plus rag thingy) with Charlotte insisting on sharing the armchair, it must be love!

Oh how I love a good rub down after a swim".

Tizer is still available for homing - is he the dog you are looking for?

Re: Tizer, Crossbreed, DOB 06.09 - Caversham, Reading

Tizer is currently in a foster home until his forever home comes along. Are you able to home him?

Here is an update from his fosterer:

"2 months! I can't believe the lovely lad is still with us, but I'm VERY glad he is. We all love him to bits. So the big question everyone keeps asking us is "WHY DON'T YOU KEEP HIM"?

Well we answer that with the fact that our little family is better than kennels, but Tizer deserves a bit more. A slightly bigger garden and people with a bit more time is what the world should bestow upon such a glorious dog!

He could also do with not having the self appointed job of Charlotte's bodyguard! Out walking on his own he is a perfect on/off lead dog, meets other dogs well and has great recall. With Charlotte, however, he feels he has to protect her from the scary old world. It's very cute, but not fair on him.

Until his perfect forever home comes along I am more than happy to get more hugs like these:

and to look at this gorgeous face!

Have you got a Tizer size place in your home and heart for him?

Re: Tizer, Crossbreed, DOB 06.09 - Caversham, Reading

Here is are a few updates from Tizer’s foster family:

16th Oct:
“Tizer is a bit under the weather. He's injured his paws a bit whilst playing ball and is feeling a tad sorry for himself. He's the sweetest lad when he's poorly, just wants to snuggle up and get lots of hugs and kisses.

Managed to time a walk perfectly and catch the sunshine, which perked him up enough to have a little run around”.

New harness!

Tizer's "sorry face", though he's done nothing wrong, I only wanted the ball!

Having hugs with Charlotte, it's hard to get a pic with one and not the other now!

6th Nov:
“Oh dear, Tizer went out for a massive trek with Simon today and sadly got caught on the wrong end of a German Shepherd on the way home. He went up to say hello as he's such a friendly chap and Simon wasn't able to pull him back in time when the Shepherd lunged and grabbed him by the ear. Luckily Charlotte and I were out on a training walk, because if she had been there it would have been horrendous!

Tizer has been very down since and has been mainly under a blanket on the sofa looking unusually miserable. I'm going to take him to the "dog park" tomorrow which is full of fluent dogs which will hopefully help him recover”.

Poor boy.

Ouchies!

9th Nov:
“Tizer is back to his usual lovely self.

I need to let everyone know how much this boy has changed over the last few months. When he arrived he was exhausted and a bit nervy, then once well rested and well fed he became very high energy - no walk ever seemed long enough! He then began to relax a bit more, share some affection and bond beautifully with Charlotte.

Now Tizer can snooze for England, is more than happy with his two walks a day (as long as he gets to play ball), and will squeeze into the smallest possible space in his mission to get a hug”!

Tizer is patiently waiting for his forever home to find him. Could it be you?

“Thanks, we're all great and Tizer is back to his usual lovely self.

Look at this handsome lad!

Marvellous creature, wonderful, wonderful dog. He’d love his forever home to come along for Christmas!

Do you have a place next to the fire for Tizer? Could you consider adopting him and offering the forever home that he so deserves?

Re: Tizer, Crossbreed, DOB 06.09 - Caversham, Reading

Tizer's foster daddy gave his foster mummy a small box on Christmas Day. In it was a new dog tag for Tizer with their home address on it! Tizer has well and truly found his forever home!
