Camera equipment question

Perhaps this isn't the best place to put it but I purchased a DSLR camera solely for taking pictures of my dogs. I got a canon 450D and am looking into getting a tripod. But as its for doggie pics I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for a tripod that is suitable enough to take out on walks?

Re: Camera equipment question

hi, we also bought an slr for doggie pics, we use a tripod from argos, it only weighs one kilo so its not too heavy and it was cheap! only £15 but i just had a look at thier website and its on offer at 2 pound cheaper. dont get me wrong its not proffesional quality but its light and user friendly. hope that helps

Re: Camera equipment question

Oh thanks for that I will take a look. Do you find that it is sturdy enough that it will not fall over if you happen to have a big lens on it?

Re: Camera equipment question

you might want a UV lense protector, they are 10 - 20 pounds depending. It cuts most sun glare out of the pics and will stop the factory lense from scratching too - worth buying

Re: Camera equipment question

i suppose it depends on how big a lens, our biggest is only an 800 and its plenty sturdy enough for that. also the legs can be adjusted to different legnths which is handy for uneven ground.

Think I will take a look at it - even if it doesn't work out it is still only £15
