has anyone heard of, or got any experience or knowledge of this stuff? A couple of people have suggested it to me to sprinkle on pups food. Helps bones to grow strong, in particular the big breeds.

look up SA37...i think u can give that to pups..u can get it in tablet and powder form.

Calcium is good for pups/ dogs but if they are getting a good diet they may not need supplemented. I heard too much Calcium can be bad for dogs

If you feed a good quality food you shouldn't need to supplement!

Giving pups excess calcium,e specially large breeds can cause growth problems.

Puppies cannot excrete excess calcium like adult dogs, so it can cause bone and joint deformities. There is some info in one of the other threads a bit lower down, I think.

I have used collocal d liquid but have never used powder

I should think MrsD that your pup will be on a food that is of a quality NOT to need extra calcium did your breeder tell you what food the pup was on
