Pups having to wait until week after last injection?.......

While we all waited patiently to take our pride and joy's out for the first walk! Without taking them out before the safe period!

What about when they are In the back garden we get all sorts of wildlife travelling through! Could any of these animals pass anything on to our pups?

Re: Pups having to wait until week after last injection?.......

I haven't had a dog for many years as I work long hours but I remember having a puppy as a child and not even being allowed to take him in the garden until after his second injection unless I carried him. It didn't make a lot of sense to me at the time which is probaby why I remember it - I wanted to play in the garden, he wanted to play - but I was under strict instructions not to put him down.

That was a very long time ago though as I am in my 40's now.

Not sure what I will do about the garden when I am in a position to get a dog - as it does sound like they may be at risk just from being out there - but that's a long time in the future. I know when I've had kittens they haven't been allowed even in the garden until the week after their second injection and I will stick to that with the kitten(s) I am keeping from my current litter.
