I have a 12 year old border collie bitch who is on Metacam and cortiflex for her arthritic hip. She now has an ear infection and is having to take Canaural drops containing the steroid Prednisolone. My concern is the mixture of drugs. when I read the leaflets the Metacam is NSAID which is not supposed to be taken with a steroid. The side effects can be quite worrying. I am going to ask my vet but am a bit sceptical about the advice you get sometimes, so would really appreciate anyones advice. The drops seem to be affecting her hearing, is that normal? Has anyone had any experience of side effects of Canaural ear drops or am I just being paranoid?
