"Sleep" In Eyes?.................(Dog)

For the past 4 weeks now i seem to be wiping oz's eyes constantly! It's like a white substance in the corner of his eyes that I call sleep! Only a small amount! Should i take him to the vets?

Re: "Sleep" In Eyes?.................(Dog)

could be pollen or dust in the air,
is it causing irritation? or is it yellow?
if it is i would go to vets to be on safe side.

you could wipe each eye from outer to inner corner with fresh, but cooled boiled water on cotton wool or tissue,

Sounds a bit like conjunctivitis, not sure if dogs can get it but either way a vet trip will be necessary for correct diagnosis and medication if necessary.
