hi there, this could be that your dog isnt crunching up the pieces well enough before swallowing...i dont like feeding oxtail personally (unless it is in one massive piece) as i found that as it is usually in small chunks and they are not ideal for encouraging proper crunching before swallowing...

re the offal - any offal is fine really - just use the normal rules with feeding any new food, i.e. introduce a little at a time. I feed maggie lamb heart on a regular basis and she rally likes them - they are a nice tough chewy meal! hearts are classed as meat in the raw feeding scheme of things as they are a muscle. but things like kidneys are good to feed and a small amount of liver etc. you have to be careful with the amount of liver you give - for example on a completely raw fed diet it should only make up 5% of overall intake. all offal can give upset tums if not introduced slowly, so just be careful with how much you give of new things...

is your lab full grown or a pup? personally I try to avoid chicken wings on their own for larger dogs, as they are too easy to inhale once they get the hang of it!! something more substantial would be better, for instance a chicken wing/breast quarter with the wing attached. it just gives that much bigger a chunk to encourage proper crunching up before swallowing...

if you only give the odd one a week, then I probably woudlnt adjust the normal food intake unless she is on the porky side...however if you were to give one a day then I would recuce the amount...it depends on how much she weighs as to how much you would feed/reduce by etc...

shes a full grown lab i guess as shes 10mths old so she would need something bigger than a wing to start with ?

I think so yep - I have seen labs consume raw chicken halves pretty quick, so I would personally not like to give something as small as a wing even as a treat just in case.

Try a quarter as I mentioned above...still a nice treat and you can give a breast quarter with wing attached if you like - it just provides something that more substantial to encourage crunching it up!
