My lovely 6 year old Rottie x Lab has just been diagnosed with severe hip dysplasia.

One hip is causing him a huge amount of pain and it has been advised that the best cause of action is a total hip replacement. He is still a young dog, and this would I hope let him a life free of pain and the ability to have lovely, long walks again.

But I am a little apprehensive.

Has anyone's dog ever gone through this?
What was the rehab like?

Any advice please.
