Yeah I know but its just so frustrating when I take her out shes always eating rabbit poo or horse sh*t but she turns her nose up at RC!! LOL

We had a whippet bitch come to us from Ireland 5 months ago for me to show and as a brood bitch. At first she wouldn't eat she refused everything .Her breeder told me I would have to watch her as she got fat easily. We tried everything to get her to eat until one day I crated her with an older castrated male who could be equaly fussy. If they hadn't eaten their food in 15 minutes I took it out and they wenthungry until their next meal time. It took a while and she went quite thin but now she is looking that well that I took her to ringcraft last week and no one recognised her they all asked who the new bitch was even though I had taken her before.

On the other hand my greyhound would rather starve than eat anything other than his normal food and meat has to be cooked he thinks I'm trying to posion him if I try to give him raw meat

Our boy has always been a fussy eater right up until he got neutered at 14 months old.

We quickly learned that the feeding times that suited him best was lunch time & dinner time. He just would not touch food before midday (a task and a half when he was on 4 meals a day as a young pup!

). We started off by babying him which in hindsight made him worse, so even though we felt awful we did what everyone is advising on this thread. Pick up after 10-15 minutes and nothing till next meal time. Logan would only ever let himself miss 2 meals (1 day) and he soon learned that we meant business. Also it was probably at about 8 to 9 months old that we reduced the amount in each meal. As previously mentioned, they have done most of their growing so don't need as high food intake.

So I would try gradually reducing the amount, and being strict with how long his bowl is down for.
