Re: Urinary Infection. Should I sue the breeder?

Yes, she obviously needs to keep her fluid levels up for quite some time, if not permanently

Re: Urinary Infection. Should I sue the breeder?

Hiya

I agree with rona, It would be beneficial for her and to help her kidney function if she went onto a totally wet diet (without any dry).

Do you mind if i ask what food you are feeding?

A good quality wet food such as forthglade, naturediet, natures menu, wainwrights (and a good few others), would certainly be better for her than most dry foods.

Re: Urinary Infection. Should I sue the breeder?

We feed her Pedigree canned and dry food. She has large breed dog dry food (I know she should probably still be on puppy food but all of the puppy food we've tried, the pieces are so small she doesn't chew them just swallows them). We figured Pedigree is the best our money can buy besides Royal Canin or Science Diet. And she LOVES the Pedigree dry food which is odd because she's kind of picky. I'd love to be able to feed her a good diet of fresh foods and grains but we're struggling to afford groceries for ourselves. But if it means not having to go to the vet every couple of weeks, to not go backwards on house training and to keep our girl healthy, we'll continue the canned food at least for a while. The vet seems to think that once she goes into her first season, it should flush the infections out. I'm hoping it does for her sake and ours. So another 3-5 months and she should be just fine! It's the getting through the next 3-5 months that's a struggle. Thanks for the advice!

Re: Urinary Infection. Should I sue the breeder?

royal canin isnt brilliant food

pedigree isnt either, You might be better off slowly introducing something like arden grange, orijin, and if you like wet natures diet they will cost you less then pedigree dog food and have much much better ingrediants

or on the cheaper but still excellent food look at skinners or CSJ (csj will send you some of there food to try as well and talk you through what the best food is for your dog.
