Chocolate Labrador Coat

I have a 6 month old labrador called Vince and have noticed that he seems to be shedding his coat at the moment, is this the norm? it seems to be a lot all of a sudden. Does this happen all the time or just certain times of the year. Many Thanks

Re: Chocolate Labrador Coat

I have 2 lab bitches now both 16 months old , labs as a rule shed all the time in varying amounts but twice a year they shed big time , you can almost watch it fall off as they walk lol . Although they have short coats they still benefit from being brushed 2-3 times a week and if moulting every day , Its also good for them as it increases blood flow and gets rid of dust and dirt . I find brushing them indoors best as it can then be hoovered up with the good old Dyson a must for any lab owner , A couple of tsp of cod liver oil on the food a few times a week makes sure its coat stays nice a glossy , A good brush for thier coat is a zoom groom its a pad of rubber about the size of your palm about an inch thick with rubber fingers that drag the loose fur out .Also when they are slightly damp they brush easier with less fur flying around i sometimes spray the top of thier coat with a water mist . Hope this helps .

Re: Chocolate Labrador Coat

All good advise from Andrea.

Additionally your lab might be getting her adult coat hence the extra shedding of hair.

Can I also recommend Henry - hoovers up hair a treat
