Re: Spaying

if your dog is male, it's called castration. Females are spayed. Neutering a general term for both sexes.

I got my dog castrated when he was a year old, and I wouldn't recommend neutering them any younger because it can affect their growth and their mental state (they never mature mentally into an adult). Castration can prevent humping, marking and it prevents accidental matings. If you are not breeding your dog, it's kinder to castrate them because they are not going to need them or use them.

Re: Spaying

I would recommend getting him neutered not until he's at least a year though. It is beneficial to him and he won't get fat and lazy

Re: Spaying

Just keep him on the same diet and exercise. He's the pug in your avatar right? I would keep an eye on his weight that breed is prone to weight gain but it's easily managed

Re: Spaying

Getting Neutered made no difference to Zipper's physique or energy levels.
But it did stop him trying to hump every menstruating teenage girl who came into our house - which was very embarrassing for my daughters and their friends
