hi, i was wondering if anyone uses this for ther dog(s)....is it any good?

With a big dog, I would be worried about the amount of air that they take in while drinking.
Mainly because of Bloat. Not sure if this is relevant, but worth a consideration

It's the fact that the water is running that is the problem I think.
If they a lapping at running water then it is almost certain that they will take in more air

maybe i should look into the other option.....Dogit...
same idea but you can't see/hear the water running???

I agree with Rona. Not only would they be taking in more air - it would be very difficult to monitor how much water they are drinking. Our Margot's (the youngest) mother died of bloat last year at only 6 years old - she had never any health issues. I'm so paranoid of Bloat in our Hounds that I only allow them 5 licks of water right before and an hour after they've eaten. I know OTT but just my thoughts.

the thing is....Scarlet has had stuvite stones in the past....on the recommendation list, it recommended getting a water fountain type bowl to make her drink more water to dilute the urine and help flush out any remaining gravel. Apparently dogs and cats like to drink from running water hense reasearching these fountains.

Sorry for your loss of your hound, houndies. 6 is a young age.
I do the same as you too, no food before or after a walk (golden hour) but they do drink after a walk but not after food...

I have something similar to this (I didn't pay anything near that amount though..got it on sale somewhere years ago) and my dogs do choose to drink from it before the 'normal' water bowls, so don't know if that would be any good for you?? The water doesn't gush out it just refills itself slowly as they drink. Just trying to find a link of something similar.

Okay sort of like this one but it's more of just a bottle upsidedown??? (I'm no help really!!)

My sister used to have one of these years ago, she hated it. The filter was always getting blocked and she said it was a right pain to clean.

Not sure if this is safe for yours, it would be best if you checked before you did it, but when Alfie won't drink, I add a tiny piece of marmite to the water and he drinks the lot.
Can only give him a little at a time because he loves it so much he would drink litres if I let him
