Border collie runny poos

Im starting to get at my wits ends with Jess and i need alittle help, She is a 6month old BC and she doesnt seem to beable to have solid poos for a day or too and then its runny/soft (like melting ice cream is the best to describe it) or she has diarrhea. now when i got her the breeder told me she has been fed on Wagg working dog food and she gave me a pack to get me started. i was at the vet last week and was talking about puppy milk and the vet asked what i was feeding her and said she should of been fed on puppy food till 1 year old, ive tried mix her 2 foods till she gets used to the puppy stuff but she just seems to have the runs alot. can you suggets any other food that a border collie would like.

Has your pup had a stool sample test to rule out anything medical?

Re: Border collie runny poos

no not yet but im thinking its best to get it done as soon as, she has had her food changed to more of the puppy wagg this last week like i said and it has been more runny. oh and she did have a deworming tablet lastweek and there were signs of worms in her. just the last month she's hardly had many solid poos

Re: Border collie runny poos

This needs sorting before she become dehydrated.
Have a read through these two threads.

Loose bowel movements streaked with blood and mucous

Its giardia

A lot of people recommend this food, but I think it is quite expensive.
It would be far better to stick to one food until the stomach lining has time to settle

Re: Border collie runny poos

Hi There
We used to have a Jack Russell that would go through stages of that same problem we did everything to from completely changing her diet to taking her out on longer walks, until one day we found out our 5 year old daughter was sneakily feeding our pet with candy, although it seems very funny now, at the time it was terrible, so make sure there are no little hands involved here

It could, a lot of dogs are dairy intolerant, and to be perfectly honest, cows milk is bad for any dog

Have a read of the link that Rona posted about Orijen. I use this food and several of my friends have been pleased with the fact that it's helped "firm" their dogs up.
