Landywoods is in the Midlands so they'll deliver regularly to your area
thank you for your help how long does delivery take?and how much delivery do they charge?

Re: what food is best

You'll need a fair bit of freezer space to store it all - I've got a chest freezer (one of the small ones) in my spare bedroom just for the dog food

Re: what food is best

I use mainly Royal Canin mini and once a week they get raw chicken wings which they all love. I feel I have to promote Royal Canin though as I have just started working for them as a nutrional advisor LOL. I would say out of most of the top dry complete manufacturors though Royak Canin are at the Top.

Take care

Sarah

On what grounds do you claim that? What makes Royal Canin any better than other foods?

Re: what food is best

Royal Canin have been around for 40+ years now researching and developing, they put more into their feed than most, the fact they were the first food company to start specialising in breed specific too need I go on LOL. They also test all meat products on humans before it goes into the food, if it's no good for human consumption it's no good for dogs & cats.

Over the years I have tried my dogs on Pro Plan, Pedigree, Nutro Choice Ukenuba to name a few but none of them have brought out the sparkle and life of my dogs like Royal Canin has they just thrive on it. They also enjoy their raw chicken wings too but their main diet is Royal Canin Mini (as of yet they don't have a pom breed specific) but if they did mine would be on it.

I know of a lady who took on a mini long coat dachi and it was fed on pedigree not sure if it was wet food or dry but the pups coat was in a dredful state with not much life in it the pup it's self was very low too, she put him on the dachi diet from Royal Canin and he's a totally different dog his coat looks fantastic and he's full of bounce like a pup should be.

I hope that answers your question.

Take care
Sarah

Re: what food is best

So why does Royal Canin contain grains then? I believe Royal Canin contains maize?

I don't see how it's any better than any other food, Pedigree has been around for years, that isn't any good.

How do you think Royal Canin compares to Orijen then?

Yes Royal Canin does contain Maize but not all of their feeds contain high amounts of it, infact I don't think any of their feed contains too much of it. Most of their Medium, Maxi & Giant feeds don't contain any maize, also Royal Canin are the only company at the moment to have produced a feed for Giant breeds.

I think Royal Canin is far more advanced than Pedigree has ever been.

After just looking on the Orijen website, I can say that Royal Canin cook their feed in pretty much the same way as Orijen, their meat is delivered fresh not frozen, they take a small sample form the truck to cook and try themselves and if it is no good they send the whole lot back, they don't put any rubbish in their feed unlike other companies.

At the end of the day I am only stating what I feel is the best for my dogs it may not nessaccerily be good for everyones.

Orijen does sound like a good feed but I will be sticking to Royal Canin.

Take care
Sarah

I'm not trying to cause an arguement, it's just interesting to hear from someone on the inside!

So what benefit does having maize in dog food provide? I was under the impression most, if not all of Royal Canin's dog foods contained maize?

The dog's digestive system isn't designed to cope with maize and is also a common allergen, as are all cereals.

Why do pet foods contain cereals/grains when potato is a far better form of carbohydrate?

Royal Canin also contains beet pulp? As a form of fibre I presume and not just a filler?
