Question Shaking
Need a bit of advice please my 14 year old border collie seems to be shaking more than normal just wondered is this the norm in an older dog

His appetite etc are all fine any input would be greatly appriciated

Hi Kian Sorry I cannot help you. I have had oldies right up to good old age of 18, but never seen them shaking. Is it like shivery shaking or shaking when mobilising?

my 14 year old girl shakes more then otha times...its probs just their age, age hits them so fast, last year she could move like a young chick and yet this year age has hit her like a ton of bricks.

one of my old boys used to shake when he got old

and duke i walk his old and he shakes some days are worse than others.

It could be a mixture of age and the heat. My dog occassionally shakes when he gets really overheated.

Thank you all for your replies

I'm hoping it is just his age certainily not the heat as up here atm it is like winter again

He is like he used to get when fireworks go off as a few of you have said your older dogs are shaky too i just got a bit worried it was something serious fingers crossed it aint as i love him to pieces

Is ur dog scared of thunder??? have u had thunder storm/s???

coz i ave to say that my dog h8s fireworks aswell and she really shakes and pants, she does the same thing just be4 and during a thunder storm aswell coz she h8s the loud thunder bangs.
if its not that then it more then likey is age

yeh and dogs can hear the thunder that we can't miles away. i know coz my dog rosie starts shaking and quivering and panting half an hour before a thunderstorm sometimes :| lol
