I think my dog is ill

Hey,

New here, been meaning to sign up to a dog forum for a while now, will post some pics etc of him later but at the min i'm a bit concerned.

He's 18 months old, he's a black lad pedigree, he's had the chop.

Basically, he started throwing up for a few mornings, I thought it was wee and told him off for it, but over a few days he started bringing up more and more food and yesturday was the worst, in the space of 20mins he threw up 8 times (twice whilst we were down the park and 6 times when i got in).

He's stopped eating, I put dry food out Sunday morning and threw it all out Monday morning.
Put fresh food out today (monday) and it's all still sat there.

He won't even eat treats like a biscuit or gravy bone.

The only thing he ate was a treat a friend down the park gave him, and he threw that up today, so today he only ate 1 thing...and he threw up once.

He was also cold last night, not as warm as he usually is so i wrapped him in a blanket and he stayed under it for hours.

The problem I have is, I don't work, and my family have gone on holiday and don't get back untill wed night/thursday, and the dog now hasn't eaten for 2 days. I want to take him to the vet but I have about £6 to my name.

Any advice anyone can give me?

Do you think the vet will treat the dog, then let my mum go in and pay him later in the week?

Any help is appreciated.

Thank You

Robin

oh and is he drinking?????

continuous vomiting can dehydrate a dog pretty quick so make sure hes getting plenty of drink aswell.

Re: I think my dog is ill

Thanks, all the ladies seem to say he's good looking...they seem to be overlooking me

He is drinking yes, and every time I see him drink I replace his water with some nice fresh water for him.
He's not drinking in big splashy gulps like normal though, just slow kinda licks.

Re: I think my dog is ill

Thanks very much I appreciate your help, will take a look at the link now.

His sick is very watery and yellow, that's why at first I thought he'd randomly started weeing in the house again, then grass and food lumps started showing up in it, but it's about 98% thick liquid, like yellow washing up liquid.

He does like to put things in his mouth yes, likes to chew sticks and stones.

Re: I think my dog is ill

He has the following from that site:

1. Larger objects will not be able to move further than the stomach causing infrequent bouts of vomiting that may not occur for up to 2 days at a time.

2. Smaller objects that move further than the stomach may cause very frequent and almost constant vomiting and retching to try and clear the object with no sign of diarrhea.

3. Loss of appetite and not wanting to eat or drink anything because all movement of the dogs waste is restricted or stopped completely.

4. Dog may try strenuous attempts at passing feces.

he seem's to have all them, tried to go to the toilet 3 times when i was walking him and nothing came out each time....someone asked me if i was going to pick it up, I had to ask them to point to it because he done nothing and he's just i'll....the person felt very stupid hehe

kind off embaracing aint it waiting for that to happen

is his belly tence???? is he showing signs of being very tired (depressed) compaired to his normal self??? sorry to ask so many questions.... but it does sound like hes eaten a foreing object and depending where abouts it is it could prove to be serious...not trying to scare you just going by wat i have read..but i would seriously think about getting him to a vet asap.

Re: I think my dog is ill

With Loe on this one this puppy needs the vet sooner rather than later - it is impossible to diagnose over the net and this puppy needs seeing to soonest!!!
