Exclamation Dal seized in June @ 11-stone! fed crisps + choc

i was STUNNED by the photos -

Dog owner banned from keeping animals after pet dalmatian balloons to 11 stone on crisps and chocolate | Mail Online
look at the seated front-on shot,
the poor dog is so knuckled-over by his own weight, his legs and
paws look like Q-tips supporting a bowling-ball - Poor dog!

his knees still look cr*ppy, and he has a lick-habit on his hocks
that may indicate joint-pain there -- but his AFTER pic is so, so
much better!

i find it difficult to believe that his OWNER was entirely ignorant that his dog was morbidly obese! that seems to fly in the face of reason.
glad he is *banned* from owning pets... for 10-years, anyhow.

i have seen + trained with fat-Dals, but this sets a record!
hope that i never see anything like it, myself...

If its cruel to have an underweight dog, it should be cruel to have a severely overweight dog. I think there are far more related health issues with being obese too.

He looks like a completely different dog now.

Im not sure how i feel about this

I feel for the dog, but atleast the owner loved it maybe abit to much but to be banned for 10yrs for loving his dog and not havin enough education on dog health and nutrition i think is a bit much when people can abuse and cause pain ad suffering on prupose and only get 2-3yrs ban if any at all

I'm with Daynna on this one. I think a lot of education would have been the way to go with this one, and supervision every so often, to ensure he was sticking with the dogs food.

The dog does look great now, a bit funny shaped LOL (I mean thast nicely!) but healthier looking.
