Lightbulb clicky hips

hi guys. only just stumbled upon your site and have registered. wish i had found it months ago and sure i will be posing regularly.sorry if my first question has been discussed already and i missed it but i need some advise. i recently got my first british bulldog. she is wonderful and we love her to bits. she was worth every penny and the breeder was wonderful. she has proved to be a great asset to our family. i will post more later but for now i was wondering if clicky hips at the age of 5 months was normal or should i take her to the vet asap? she was vet checked and kc registered and then re vet checked by my vet and given a clean bill of health. she seems in no pain at all but if you touch her rear end as she sits or moves you can feel her hips clicking. if it is normal i will stop worrying but i just wanted advise before i took my baby to the vet.

Re: clicky hips

do you know if the breeder had all the necessary health checks done on her bitch before breeding her ,Im not sure if bulldogs have hip scoring as some other breeds do but it may be a question you might like to ask her / him, . Clicking of hips can be a bad sign in some dogs not sure about bulls though , it can indicate the cartillage being loose around the joint thus allowing the hip to slip slightly in its socket , this in the long term can cause arthritis as wearing to the head of the hip joint will be painfull if not checked , ask your breeder if she knows if her bitch has any problems or if the sire does , im not saying that she may try to misslead you but dont be surprised if she says no , also the breeder if co-operative may be the best person to advise you on your questions if she is vague or you feel your question have not been answered then go to your vet , I hope you have inurance as x rays ect and any treatment may be costly . This is just my opinion someone else may have more of an idea .
