Thumbs down vets *defensive-med* co$ts clients more...

A veterinarian's view on 'defensive medicine' raising health costs - USATODAY.com

it seems that vets + litigation have USA pet-owners locked in a rising spiral of costs - vets are so concerned about possible suits that they are adding more tests, which increase costs, and vet-fees themselves are also rising, in part b/c of simple increased costs (supplies, staff wages, facility, etc), but also as a back-to-the-wall defensive reaction to *potential* lawsuits.

with 1 in 15 persons in the USA being a lawyer, all those lawyers have to make a living SOMEhow, LOL - and if they have to incite a lawsuit to do it, by Harry, they WILL! this is one of those times i would dearly love to live in a less litigious society... * sigh*

--- terry

land of the not-so-free and not-so-brave! except of course for the lawyers - who are DEFINITELY not free, but they corner the market in chutzpah and ego-inflation, these mavens of money-minting!
ah, weel, gelt geht zu gelt, nu?
