feed how many times

Barney just doesn't seem to want his food.
Normally feed twice aday am and pm but has a few mouth fulls then walks away, been doing this for weeks and weeks
He does tend to eat more in the evening than late morning, so have now started to feed him once in the evening about 5 and he tends to eat it all.
Is it ok to only feed once aday.
He is a 11 month old miniture australian labradoodle

Have you tried putting some sardines or mackeral in his morning food, mix it all in he may love it. I would still put his morning feed down for him even if he only eat a little of it, one meal per day may not be enough for him and he is still only a junior pup, perhaps that is all he wants until his favorite time when he eats the lot. I have 3 Chihuahua's and they eat little bits all day, but the evening they eat a hell of alot more. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Re: feed how many times

I feed my dog twice a day. When he was picky with his food, we added a spoonful of wet food to make it seem tastier. It worked, and now he has a spoonful of wet food as a treat in his morning food, and then just dry in the evening.

Re: feed how many times

If your dog prefers to eat once a day and eats it all then I cant see any problems from it. Just offer a meal in the morning now and again incase he wants that little extra to tie him through the day. If he persists in not touching it, then leave it out. xxxxxxx
