Re: 0rijen puppy food

shell love it, it just turns them on, both of mine cant wait for feeding times and got to each others bowls every night (a couple of times) just to make sure they are empty... to look at me and say come on - gimme some more This is one food that you do not need to over feed on - both mine get measured amounts. Any more than recommended feeding will be wasted - the bag should lasr as long as the 15kg bags of other ranges - around 3 months Mine are on lower to mid feed amounts

Re: 0rijen puppy food

I remain unconvinced that a high protein food is good for a growing pup. John Burns of Burns Pet Nutrition, who is a respected vet and has been producing pet food for over 20 years is convinced that a lot of joint problems he saw as a vet were not helped by feeding too high a protein to pups - it puts excess muscle mass on immature skeleton to quickly. He is convinced that the best route is a slow steady growth so that the skeleton and muscles grow at their own rate and you end up with a healthier young adult.

the amount of growth mine made on Burns in the first 6 months I saw no reason not to got to Orijen, hes grown maybe an inch if antything in 3 months and his muscle mass is no different to that of any natural development through exercise.

Re: 0rijen puppy food

I got a 2kg bag of Applaws dog on line from Petplannet for £4.99. A 2.5kg bag of Orijen costs £16.99!!!!. There is more meat in the Applaws product than Orijen. It contains Omega 3 & 6 from fresh salmon, It is free of rice, it contains no cereals or grains. It contains natural extracts for good health including Cranberry, Seaweed extract, Rosehip extract, and natural plant fibres that help your dog get rid of digested dog hair safely. It even contains a natural yucca extract that helps reduce the smell of my dogs poop. Best of all it is British and my dog loves it. If you have not tried it I would strongly recommend you call Applaws as they are giving away free samples. Even the telephone number is free (0800 083 0599)
