Re Ossie our Cavalier King charles spaniel

Hi I am amandah and I am so sad as Ossie our 11 year old Cavvie, has Cancer Anal sac tumour, and also he is rather incontinent now but he is till eating and enjoys our love and affection that we are able to give him. He doesnt seem to be in any pain. But I simply am so dreading the day that we loose Ossie. He is on antibiotics for a water infection. Please advise Thank-you regards amandah

Re: Re Ossie our Cavalier King charles spaniel

hi amandah i'm so sorry to hear about your beloved king charles i had a king charles that passed away 9 years ago. it is so hard when to know when the time is right. he eventually lost the use of his back legs and became incontinent. he was still alert and wagging his tail but that was when i felt it was unfair on him and time to say goodbye. my thoughts are with you at this difficult time. god bless you both

Re: Re Ossie our Cavalier King charles spaniel

Dear Victoria, Thank-you for your reply. Its really hard for us. I am also seeking counselling for the pair of us as My Hugh, My Hubby is Disabled, with arthritis of the spine, hips and knees, deaf and partially sighted is in denial over Ossie, and I know that my heart will be in pieces.Although we have two ther cavvies, Duchess who will be 11 next year she is Ossies cousin and then we also have a younger one.Butnot having any children as such makes it all the more difficult. Still we will not let Ossie suffer I can assure you. Which part of the uk are you from? I am from Surrey. Regards amandah

Re: Re Ossie our Cavalier King charles spaniel

hi amandah, i am from cambridgeshire. i am so very sorry to hear about your husband too so hard for both of you and although you will find comfort in your other dogs it does not stop the pain or heartache of losing one. my husband and i pick up our pup in 3 weeks, we are getting a beagle. have 2 cats but has been a long time since i had a dog. i have 2 boys, they are 15, 11 and 9, the younger 2 have autism and i'm sure a dog will be very good for them too. please let me know how things are going and if you need to talk. hugs to you and your husband xx
