Pedigree have discontinued their Sensitive range - help

I have a 10 year old Rottie who has been on pedigree chum sensitive for most of her life due to the fact she has IBS and I can't seem to find another food which agrees with her. Pedigree have finally come back to me to tell me that they have discontinued the complete sensitive. I have tried Science diets and Hills and quite a lot of the good quality dry foods on the market. The current one she is on is giving her wind - not very nice!!!...... Am concerned that it won't be long before we get the IBS in full force if we carry on with this one. Has anyone else got a dog out there with the same problem and if so what do you feed yours?

Chappie is very good for dogs with sensitive stomachs. Even vets recommend it

Hiya

There are alot of good foods out there for dogs with sensitive stomachs.

I dont know much about pedigrees sensitive range, but most of pedigrees products arent of the best quality. Perhaps you could list the ingredients and someone here could help you find one of better quality, but with similar ingredients so as not to upset their tum.

For the time being

Burns, arden grange, and james welbeloved all do hypoallergenic ranges for sensitive tummys.

Hope that helps x

Re: Pedigree have discontinued their Sensitive range - help

do you know what specifically upsets her tummy?

arden grange is a fab food and alongside their regular adult range, they also do a sensitive version, which is a fish and potato recipe. the regular food is fully hypoallergenic as well though, its tip top stuff.

burns is also a fab food.

Re: Pedigree have discontinued their Sensitive range - help

Thanks to everyone that came back to me. I do agree that Pedigree is not the greatest and we don't feed our other dog it but when it is the only thing that you know stays put you have to go with it.

I had everyone at work on the hunt for any pets shops in the area that may have had some stock as I had completely run out. I did try chappie but as I didn't have any pedigree to do the slow change over it wasn't good for her - or me :0))))

I now have a few small bags to try a change over and will try Burgess once her stomach is right again. I am sure that one of the suggestions will work. Just have to keep trying.

Thanks again

Have you had a look at Burns dog food? they do have a good helpline so it maybe worth giving them a call and see if they can offer any advice.

Look at Skinners too, they do two hypoallergenic ones, duck and rice or salmon and rice. They are also free of maize that dogs don't digest well, and a better price than Burns. I wouldn't feed pedigree, sensitive or not, except in an emergency when nothing else was available. It's not very good.
