Lightbulb Anyone have any suggestions for this problem please

Hello there all

Sorry if this is a 'messy' subject.

I have a 2 year old female border collie and this week she has started having very loose poo. In addition this poo has a kind of slimyness to it. Sometimes the poo is sort of 'formed' however it is still slimy. (The slime is a beigy white kind of colour)

We have not changed her food, she eats pedigree and Butchers tinned food with pedigree mixer biscuits.

Any ideas please - sort of worried about her.

Thanks in advance for any help.

This should be in the dog health section
It sounds almost certainly like colitis, a little natural yogurt daily may help or you could try this
vetscriptions.co.uk: PRO-KOLIN 30: (Protexin) probiotic, kaolin & pectin for dogs and cats, 30mls

Sorry if in wrong section - I saw the 'health' bit and thought it was the right place

I am sure one of the moderators will move it if it is wrong.

Thanks for your reply!

I would get you dog to the vet for a check, she may have just picked something up, but if it is colitis the earlier you get it the better.

My rough suffers with colitis from time to time so I had to look at changing his diet after he had had all the tests done by the vet. He is now on Burns duck/brown rice ( dry ) I add a scoop of protect to his evening meal this works a bit like yogurt.
